Dr. Barreto grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and worked as both a dentist and an orthodontist in the Brazilian military. In 2011 was appointed a fulltime faculty member in the division of orthodontics at the University of Manitoba, where he taught orthodontics for three years.
Also during this time at the University of Manitoba, Dr. Barreto completed and achieved every level of orthodontic training in Canada, and today is proud to be a member in good standing of the Alberta Dental Association and College, the Royal College of Dentists in Canada, the Canadian Dental Association, the Canadian Association of Orthodontics as well as the American Association of Orthodontics. Additionally, Dr. Barreto continues to do research in the field of orthodontics, and his articles have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Barreto in his spare time loves to enjoy to stay with his lovely wife Tatiana and his 5 Kids and a grandson, also He likes to play video games, soccer (as a good Brazilian), read great books and watching YouTube videos.
